To get healthy, prevent disease, lose weight and make a change for good you have to not only know what to eat, you have to also actually do it, -and that is the hardest part isn't it?

But do you wonder why you cannot seem to change your habits and do what you actually know is best for you? Do you wonder how to gain freedom from behaviors that continue to hurt you? Do you try to get free from your own judgment? You’ve probably tried and found that it isn’t as easy as you hoped or expected it would be.

There is a good reason we feel overwhelmed when we think about changing habits. Habits are automatic and effortless actions. They are, by definition, the things we do without thinking, so changing them takes effort — and mindfulness.

Neuroscience teaches us that it takes 7 days to “rewire” our brain after learning something new, which is why changing habits is not as easy as we might like it to be. To implement new ways of being, to make a change for good, we need to learn what to do and how to do it. We need to create new cognitive pathways so the changes can take root and create lasting change in our actions for well-being.
