Do you practice daily gratitude and appreciation for what surrounds and supports you? Most don't... but this is a good time to consider changing that.
Earth Day is one day where we pay attention to how we use up the resources of the Earth. I would obviously like to point to the fact that we need to do this everyday. Not only are we relying on the resources of Earth, but we are also inherently dependant even if modern life has us thinking we can handle this life on our own without the support of nature. This however is a day to take the opportunity to be grateful maybe. Or at least to honor Nature for what She brings to us everyday.
Many think of veggies as something we pick up at the store and forget to take the relationship back to where it begins. Earth. Not just life in general for us humans, but also growing life. Growing vegetables is not just life in and of itself, it is what gives us life. I know you know all this but it is sometimes nice to just slow down and acknowledge that. We forget when we rush through the store and maybe one veggies looks a little more spotted than the other. Or one is a little less spunky because it has not had enough water. Or one is in a bit better shape than the other. We pick and choose and forget that this final display of a veggie has had months before it to seed and grow... given the right conditions.
And not just that effort, but also the journey it took to come to the store and the hands that has held it along the way. And then there it is, ready to become your nourishment.
If you think I am personifying vegetables...yes I am. If we can have a relationship to our food that is one of appreciation and gratitude, then we can also have that for Mother Earth...and maybe even each other.
One of my hopes with this online program is to give more people the opportunity to learn more about what feeds us, how and why…but not just that... you have probably noticed that I care a lot. Like a real lot, not just about you and how you feel in relationship to your food… and your Self, but also about the eco-sustainability of how we eat and live.
With every choice, with every bite, we can be part of the eco-consciousnes and the care, which hopefully one day with be as second-nature and as natural a way of being as the sun, rain, wind, and ...earth for everyone on a global level.
The Path for Life Online 9-step Self-Nourishment Program is a lot about learning more about food, why and what to eat...but it is also how to become more aware and mindful. Both in your choices but also in being you. It is a wonderful curious and engaging interaction that we can have with our Self. It is a lot like getting to know someone really wonderful a tad bit more. The Mindfulness Section goes through the entire 9-steps because it is an important part about how we grown ourselves.
Here is an excerpt from the online program, which is about love-power and why will-power is just not cutting it. The program also includes info-graphic, tips and tools in all of the 9-steps.
