The Holiday Season is a like a season in itself. A season between seasons...Things are changing, foods are changing, the cold weather is coming. The one thing that might help you stay nourished is taking a pause.
Consider stopping the madness for some small moments just for you, maybe even unplugging for a minute and letting yourself simmer down. Creating a tiny space between you and the world, between what you are doing one moment and what you are doing the next - and between meals.
Establishing a rhythm that includes pauses in your day helps you get through feeling both more in balance and also more in tune with yourself. We tend to get so busy during this time that our head is spinning and our body is feeling lost in the Holiday madness, with just food to calm us down. If this sounds familiar you are one of the many who push so hard to get everything done and make everyone happy this month, and the last one being nourished is you. And this month can already be a bit overwhelming with the Holiday parties and meals awaiting us.
Well... creating pause is the first step to finding your center. Find a small moment of serenity where you can just breathe for a moment, check in with your Self, notice what your body feels and needs. For example, it might be a glass of water, rather than another cup of coffee, but when we are stressed out we go on automatic.
Maybe also consider making a practice out of taking small moments to notice what you are grateful for now, the way Thanksgiving just gave us an opportunity to do so. Keep those little moments going throughout the Holiday season.
Creating pauses, moments between moments, and some peace and quiet even within you during the bustle of the Holiday season.
