Eating to feel nourished is not a diet

From the moment we are born, we seek ways to be nourished and feel safe. Through life we adapt eating habits and lifestyle behavior patterns to help us avoid pain and find pleasure. This is human nature, although the habits we form as a result of this basic aspect of our nature do not always serve us, or our health, well. They often lead to emotional eating, disorderly eating and sometimes even disease.

Health grows from integration of our body, mind, and soul. Food is one of the most important ingredients in a healthy daily life but not the only one. Our emotional health is a much more important factor than we realize.

From a short-term perspective food becomes our energy, our mood and our ability to focus and function. What makes us thrive is the integration of our thoughts and how they affect our general well-being. In the long run, our overall health depends on our food, our mindfulness and our habits. 

Through functional nutrition, mind-body medicine, and an integrative approach to our physical and emotional health, our bodies have the capacity to heal when we remove the obstacles and give them the right conditions to do so.

Our emotional well-being is an essential part of our path to physical health and it is also crucial for us to actually be able to change how we eat and live, because as human beings, we make choices with both our mind and our heart.

We make so many choices every day based on instinct, fear, survival principles, and our desire for pleasure. Becoming aware and mindful is a beautiful "waking up" to our Self. 

In this integrated method we learn how our emotions affect our food choices, which in turn affect our mood, emotional, and physical well-being, which then again affect our food-choices. This can feel like madness but the Path for Life Method helps find the way through it all.
